I was saved…
but I was starving

In 2002, in the still of the night, the Lord placed a clear calling on my life: “You are going to write, speak, and encourage women.” Since then, I have been obediently writing, speaking, and encouraging women in their faith at churches and recovery centers across the nation as the LORD provided opportunities.

However, despite my heart’s desire to honor God with my life, my thoughts were often not in agreement with my actions. I was living with all the symptoms of what was medically diagnosed as ADHD and bipolar 1.

I was striving to act like a good Christian. I studied The Bible. I loved and served God and people. I volunteered at church. I told people about Jesus. But my soul was full of fear, depression, resentment, chaos, confusion, and defeat. I was saved… but I was starving.

On August 22, 2023, after an 8-month series of thought-provoking and faith-challenging conversations with spiritual mentors, my spirit grabbed the truth of the Word that says I am healed (Isaiah 53:5). As soon as I agreed with this truth, I began thanking the LORD for my healing. I thanked Him that I do not have a mental illness and that He created me perfectly. I thanked Him that I have a sound, stable mind and that I have the mind of Christ.

Immediately, the chaos in my mind quieted. I was present in the moment. My mind was no longer way out here or way back there. It was right here, in the present moment. I was healed.

Being a Christian is a relationship with Christ

My passion is to encourage women in the LORD by shining a light on who God is, who we are in Him, and what He has made available to us.

I want you to know God, our Heavenly Father - not only as Righteous Judge, but as your compassionate, loving Daddy.

I want you to know Jesus - not only as Savior, but as LORD of your life.

I want you to know Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God - not only as the Third Person of the Holy Trinity, but as Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby. He guides us into all truth and He is the key to walking in our freedom and victory.

I challenge you to respond from your heart to these questions. God already knows your answers. Do you?

  1. Are you like I was, saved and starving, just going through the motions of being a Christian?

  2. Are you coping with depression, anxiety, broken relationships, anger, and defeat as though it’s normal?

  3. Have you struggled to put God first in your life?

  4. Have you struggled to spend time in His Word and seek His will?

  5. Have you settled for just showing up at church?

  6. Are you tired of trying so hard to be a Christian?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, I pray a fresh hunger over you for the things of God. He’s such a good, good Father whose arms are always open to us - we just have to turn to Him and embrace Him.

Being a Christian isn’t a religion about Christ - it’s a relationship with Christ.

It’s time to take up our position of authority in Christ

I pray this Scripture over you from Ephesians 1:17:

THAT THE GOD OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE FATHER OF GLORY, MAY GIVE TO YOU THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM.

If you’ve accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you already have Holy Spirit living in you. All the wisdom you’ll ever need is in you right now. He is waiting for you to turn to Him for everything.

Scripture says that Jesus is coming back soon but we are not to wait for His coming to take up our position of authority in Him. He has already defeated the devil for us. He handed us that victory and the authority over him when we were made new in Christ. So let’s thank the LORD that we already have the victory - then live like it.

not only trusting in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and God as our Heavenly Father, but let’s armor up and stand with the power of Holy Spirit on the front lines of the battle and watch the enemy’s defeat!

He is a defeated foe. Let’s learn to
live like it!
